About
Dahi Bhalla is a beloved North Indian chaat delicacy made using fluffy, deep-fried lentil fritters that are soaked until soft and then immersed in chilled, creamy yogurt. The dish is further elevated with sweet tamarind chutney, spicy green chutney, a sprinkle of roasted cumin, chaat masala, and pomegranate seeds or boondi for added texture. The result is a refreshing, sweet-tangy-spicy combination that melts in your mouth. Unlike many chaats, Dahi Bhalla requires a bit of advance preparation, as white urad dal must be soaked before grinding and making the fritters. Once prepared, it becomes a perfect appetizer for festive occasions, summer meals, or gatherings. Servings: 1–2 people Quantity per serving: 6 pieces Calories: 106 Spice Level: Medium Preparation Note: Requires soaking white urad dal overnight Common accompaniments: Papdi, Sev, Chilled beverages, and other chaat dishes.
